Job Description:

This is a new and innovative service funded by Wolverhampton PCT, working directly with stimulant users across the city of Wolverhampton.

The post holders will be working with any individual who are using stimulants, including ecstasy, amphetamines, powdered cocaine or crack cocaine problematically.

It is essential that the service is easily accessible, especially to those people who would not ordinarily seek assistance from treatment services. Practitioners, although a part of the Aquarius team, will work form a range of outreach settings, including primary care surgeries and the DIP team.

You will provide and reinforce harm reduction and health improvement messages. Motivate and support service users to access structured drugs treatments and other services. To offer brief interventions/fast tracking/care planning and deliver a structured 12 week intervention program.

There will be links with the other drugs providers in the City and development work to be undertaken. Partnership working is integral to the success of the service and will include working with other treatment providers and social care professionals.
