Job Description:
Our client, a leading national childrens charity is looking to appoint a Direct Marketing Manager to develop and manage donor acquisition programmes and to ensure that marketing plans are delivered on time, within budget and to target
Attainments
In order to be considered for this post you will need to demonstrate that you already have/are:
At least four years experience in direct marketing, ideally including some experience gained within the charity sector, working across a broad media mix
A proven track record in direct marketing planning and implementation, achieving goals and targets
Proven experience in budget and resource management.
Proven people management experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Educated to degree level
A professional direct marketing qualification is highly desirable.

Key Activities (Acquisition)
Assist the Head of Individual Giving in strategic planning to recruit profitable new supporters for the charity
To make a significant contribution to the formulation of marketing plans and annual budgets for the Acquisition Marketing programme, covering a broad marketing mix including face-to-face fundraising, payroll giving, direct mail, telemarketing, DRTV, online media and other media
To plan and oversee the delivery of acquisition plans and campaigns on time and within budget to meet the agreed targets through management of a small team
To ensure that resources and budgets for which responsibility is assigned are managed effectively and efficiently and that activities and services are managed to a high standard
Oversee the selection and appointment of internal and external suppliers. Ensure efficient and professional relationships and working practices are maintained with suppliers
Regularly monitor, evaluate and report the performance of acquisition programmes, making recommendations for additional investment, strategic or operational adjustments or contingency plans as appropriate
Co-ordinate activity and maintain a high level of liaison with the Retention Team
Ensure that staff and volunteers for whom management responsibility is assigned are appropriately recruited, trained, developed and informed
Maintain an understanding of leading edge practice, market trends and regulatory requirements
Lead projects, undertake ad hoc activities and deputise as required by the Head of Individual Giving
