Description |
Areas of Responsibility
• Lead on the development of the organisation’s Corporate Fundraising Strategy and contributing to the overall Fundraising Strategy for the UK as a member of the Fundraising Senior Management Team
• Propose, negotiate and take responsibility for corporate income and expenditure targets across the Corporate function. Ensure delivery of income against targets, monitoring and evaluating performance and taking corrective action where necessary.
• Prioritise the Team’s workload and activity to be able to meet budgetary targets.
• Report monthly Corporate Fundraising activity, commenting on variances, opportunities and concerns.
• Develop persuasive and innovative proposals, case studies and pitches to maximise or secure income from a variety of corporate sources.
• Develop and establish a variety of income streams, including Charity of the Year, employee fundraising programmes, strategic partnerships, cause related marketing initiatives and sponsorship, to ensure a stable annual income.
• Lead on the account handling of all current and new corporate donors, including update meetings and the submission of funding and evaluation reports, liaising with other departments as appropriate.
• Line manage the Corporate Team which will involve: recruitment, induction, supervision and appraisal, coaching, training and development.
• Ensure that all members of the team update Raisers’ Edge as necessary with donation/donor contact information, processing donations per Trust procedures.
• Maintain leading edge knowledge through analysis and research of the Corporate Fundraising marketplace
• Contribute to the planning, in conjunction with other members of the fundraising team, for networking and prospect events in support of fundraising activity.
• Represent The organisation at internal and external conferences where appropriate.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge
• In depth and up-to-date knowledge of corporate fundraising methodologies and approaches and the UK’s corporate arena
• Knowledge of strategic fundraising planning and budgeting procedures
• Knowledge of the voluntary sector and ideally knowledge of carers’ issues or similar field
• Knowledge of fundraising information systems and databases, particularly Raisers Edge
Skills and Abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including persuasion, diplomacy networking and negotiation and ability to represent the organisation effectively to senior decision makers and high profile individuals
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create innovative and persuasive presentations and proposals to a range of audiences and media, tailored to each potential donor’s preferences
• Excellent planning, project management and organisational skills, including ability to deliver to multiple priorities whilst retaining a thorough attention to detail
• Good strategic, analytical and evaluative skills, including creation of innovative approaches and campaigns whilst maintaining the brand and ethos of the organization
• Excellent financial management skills, including ability to forecast and provide accurate fundraising income data
• Understanding of, and commitment to, principles of confidentiality
• Understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Opportunities policy and practice
• To be self-servicing in IT skills e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, along with Microsoft Outlook
Experience
• Substantial experience of fundraising with a particular focus on corporate accounts/partners and/or account management and proven track record of delivering income against specified targets
• Experience of delivering across various income streams including Charity of the Year, strategic partnerships, cause related marketing and sponsorship
• Experience of account management of a variety of corporate donors at all financial levels
• Experience of new business development , including research, prospect identification and production of proposals/pitches
• Experience of building relationships with individuals at Chairman /Director /Chief Executive level
Special Conditions
• The organisation operates a no smoking policy in all offices and property.
• The job will involve some evening and weekend work. Considerable flexibility with hours and travel is required.
