Description |
THET is a UK based health charity committed to improving health services in developing countries. We have over twenty years of experience working with health institutions around the world, promoting action that is practical, sustainable and responsive. Our approach enables the UK’s expertise in health service delivery, training and research, to be channelled towards the needs of those we work with overseas.
THET promotes partnerships between NHS institutions, health training schools, universities, professional associations and their counterparts in developing countries. We work with these ‘International Health Links’ to pilot initiatives and scale up work to address wider needs. From our extensive experience we advocate best practice and influence policies to build upon the lessons of THET’s work and priorities set by our partners.
With current programme work including the International Health Links Funding Scheme, Health Systems Strengthening in Somaliland, and Strengthening Training and Education of Health Workers in Zambia, the role of the Programmes Director will be both to support delivery of current programmes, but also to develop and shape our programmes going forward.
You will need to be a natural leader, with the ability to develop and manage complex, innovative, multi-stakeholder programmes. You will have experience of working with institutional donors, have strong interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator.
